Chairman's report

The Chair welcomed everyone to the first meeting of 2019. He was pleased to see everyone in good health and hoped for a productive year for the Committee.

The Committee considered the report of the Local Area Manager which outlined local projects requiring funding and grants. It also considered the Cemeteries Fees and Charges coming into effect from 1 January 2019.

The report included the Local Area Action Plan 2019/2020.

 

RESOLVED –

 

(1)         That the Chandler’s Ford and Hiltingbury Local Area Action Plan 2019/20 shown in Appendix 1 of the Agenda be approved for adoption and publication.

(2)         That £1276 from this Committee’s contingency budget to fund the repairs to the solar lighting at Peverells Wood/Constantine Avenue would not  be allocated.

(3)         That up to £2000 from Committee reserves be allocated to provide flower towers and hanging baskets in 2019 and that the Local Area Manager would seek sponsorship contributions for these.

(4)         That the Cemeteries fees and charges as shown below be approved.

Presentation on Planning Guidelines

Minutes:

Local Area Manager gave a short presentation on guidelines that had to be taken into account when determining planning applications; in particular the issues that could, and could not, be taken into account.  This was set against the broader policy framework.

Application for works under Tree Preservation Orders .1 no. Oak. Crown reduce by 3 metres. (Ref. T/18/84118 )

Minutes:

The Committee considered the report of the Lead Specialist for Housing and Development ( Agenda item 8) concerning an application for works under Tree Preservation Orders. 1 no. Oak. Crown reduce by 3 metres. (Ref.T/18/84118).

 

The Committee was advised that there were no further updates.

 

 

RESOLVED –

 

That permission be GRANTED as set out in the report.

 

(NOTES: 1) One resident and the applicant spoke in support of the application.2) The reference in the report to the “Councillor lives in an adjoining property” was not correct as Councillor Judith Grajewski lived several properties away from the applicant’s property.)
