The Senior Licensing Officer introduced the report and explained that Eastleigh Borough Council’s policies and conditions for Hackney Carriages and Private Hire trades had been reviewed and updated to address additional areas in the Department for Transport Statutory Taxi and Private Hire Standards document and to address some areas of concern raised by the taxi trades in Eastleigh.

 

RESOLVED –

 

That the Committee:

 

(1)  approved the draft Statement of Taxi Licensing Policy and appendices to go out to consultation for a period of three months; and

(2)  delegated authority to the Head of Legal Services (Acting) to agree appropriate questions to be used in the consultation correspondence.

The Senior Elections Officer introduced the report and explained that the report seeks to advise the Committee as to the process and timetable associated with the 2023 Review of Parliamentary constituencies.

 

The Leader tabled a paper with proposals relating to the consultation, seconded by Councillor Airey (Copy appended to minutes).

 

RESOLVED –

 

That the Administration Committee considered the contents of this report and endorsed the draft representations to the Boundary Commission for England as circulated at the meeting.
