It was AGREED -


That the Minutes of the meeting of the Panel held on 22 January 2020 be confirmed and signed by the Chair as a correct record subject to minute 60 being amended to read ‘Nitrogen Dioxide’.

Chief Inspector Darren Miller outlined the report which included the key community safety issues in the Borough.




The Policy and Performance Scrutiny Panel


(1)  Noted the work undertaken by the Community Safety Partnership over the past twelve months in the Borough; and


(2)  Noted the plans for the undertaking of the annual strategic review in 2020 as required in the Police and Justice Act 2006.


The Committee recognised the excellent work of the partnership regarding LGBT and hate crime which included elder crime.


Sustainable Transport Strategy (Cycling & Walking)


A workshop session took place led by the Sustainable Transport Planner, to kick start work on the Cycling and Walking Strategy. The aim of this session was to give Councillors an opportunity to input into the strategy at a very early point in the process so that they could influence the outcomes. Once this strategy had been developed further it would come back to the Committee for further discussion.
