Updates from Task and Finish Groups

Minutes:

Councillor Duguid confirmed that there was no update from the One Horton Heath Group as they had not met recently.

 

Councillor Groves confirmed that the Environmental Group met on 15 November and reviewed the Biodiversity Strategy. The Group were working towards an Eastleigh Nature Recovery Strategy.

Chair's Report

Minutes:

The Chair welcomed the Committee back after the New Year. Councillors were encouraged to sign the petition with regards to meetings being held virtually if they were in agreement with it.

Minutes:

The Head of Arts and Culture introduced the report and explained the current position in the development of the new Arts and Culture Strategy, detailing the outcome of a review which had been undertaken, working closely with key stakeholders and partners, and the emerging themes following an initial consultation.

 

RESOLVED –

 

That the Panel considered and commented on the emerging themes for the draft Arts and Culture Strategy as part of early engagement.

Minutes:

The Cabinet Member for Environment introduced the item and the Strategy Development Senior Specialist for Environment gave a short presentation to the Panel.

 

Councillor Broadhurst suggested that the Panel look at tree risks. The Executive Head for Environment and Neighbourhood Services agreed to bring the Tree Risk Management Plan for the Committee to review.

 

RESOLVED –

 

That the Panel:

 

1.  Provide feedback and comments on the general scope, direction and implications of the Tree Strategy so it can be developed prior to future adoption; and

2.  Give the Executive Heads for Environment and Neighbourhood Services endorsement to develop and implement detailed action plans to deliver the principles and forward planting work programme as required.
