Development Update

The Borough Council has scrapped the South-East Plan that required the building of a new 6000 home community at Boorley Green.

Freed up by policies from the Coalition Government, the Council is only now planning to meet local housing need.  This means about half of the homes needed to meet the requirements of our ageing population can be provided on urban 'brownfield' sites.

Gaps between all of the Borough's communities are kept in the new Local Plan.

The Plan is currently working its way through the lenghty Local Plan Inquiry process.  This should conclude in spring 2015.
